Family Style - St Venera

This family home welcomed me with an open mind. The green marble effect at the entrance was key to creating a cohesive look throughout the ground floor space. The brief was for a new kitchen, a freshly designed breakfast and living room, and a more formal lounge / TV area which will serve as an ideal entertainment spot, as well as for the families relaxation time. We opted for a classic French country kitchen complete with panels and brass effects and a clean white top, complete with a breakfast top and 3 stools.

The use of blues continued in the open plan area, with hints of floral wallpaper, industrial grey metal furniture pieces set against a pale grey wall, for contrasting effect of white sheers in the apertures. A stylish round white table, with lilac pink chair, as well as other furniture elements such as the glossy white TV unit and coffee table, were all chosen to accentuate the space, somewhat feminine, yet warm to the senses. In the lounge, a floral painting the client wished to retain, set the tone for the room.

Coral, emerald green and mustard tones were used as accent colours against a contemporary grey sofa, with copper touches. Clean lines, dark veneer pieces worked well with existing pieces in the room, and all were brought together by the whimsical green, gold and coral feature wall over the desk area. The backing of a custom made bar, also featuring the same wallpaper, ties in the continuity of this space, whilst giving it an individual and stylish edge. We enclosed this space in a black crittal style sliding door frames with panels, that aim to provide light, transparency but enclosure nonetheless. A green master-piece of a room, that comes together with grey rugs, a velvet curtains, roping in the element of green marble in the hallway.
